Imagine running on ground that is almost hot enough to melt your shoes. Or running through a smog dense enough to almost make you choke.
It may sound like Los Angeles, but it's not. It's Kilauea Volcano, and the setting is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Within the park there are miles and miles of trails for the adventurous runner or hiker.
